Serochat vs CustomGPT.ai
Both answer from your own content with citations. CustomGPT is built around running many agents; Serochat around running one or a few, well.

What kind of product CustomGPT.ai is
CustomGPT.ai is a document-grounded agent platform aimed at teams running many agents over large document sets — and, like Serochat, it cites its sources.

Serochat
Starter £49 a month for 500 conversations and one chatbot. Team £149 a month for 5,000 conversations, three chatbots, unlimited knowledge sources, and no “Powered by Serochat” badge. A 7-day trial on both, with no card to start. Full detail on the pricing page.
Where they actually differ
Priced for a different number of agents
CustomGPT’s entry plan includes ten agents and five thousand documents each — sensible if you are an agency running an agent per client, or an enterprise running one per product line. If you have one website, you are paying for nine agents you will not build. Serochat’s plans start at one chatbot and go to three.
Queries versus conversations
The two allowances are not the same unit. CustomGPT counts queries — individual questions. Serochat counts conversations, and a conversation usually contains several questions. Read both meters carefully before comparing the numbers; a like-for-like figure needs your own average.
Agents that act versus an agent that answers
CustomGPT.ai has moved towards agents that do things: its documentation describes a Plan & Act mode for multi-step work, and custom MCP connectors that let an agent reach an external system and perform a task rather than only answer about it. Serochat has stayed an agent that answers, and that is a decision rather than a lag. Every tool an agent can use is also a thing a hostile prompt can aim, and a bot whose only two outputs are a cited answer and a human handover gives an attacker nothing to aim. If your use case needs the automation, they have it and we do not.

Where it runs
Serochat’s application and database sit in London, and the privacy policy names every sub-processor that sees your data. Worth checking against any vendor’s answer if your customers ask where their questions are processed.
Which one you should pick
Pick CustomGPT.ai if…
Choose CustomGPT.ai if you need many separate agents — an agency running one per client, or a company running one per product — if you want agents that can run multi-step tasks against your other tools, or if your document sets are very large.
Pick Serochat if…
Choose Serochat if you have one site to cover and would rather not pay for a fleet of agents to get it.
The honest way to settle it
Point both at your own help pages and ask each one a question your documents only half answer. The one that admits it, and shows you which page it read, is the one you can put in front of customers.
